Breezaire WKSL 2200 Wine Cellar Cooling System
Choose options

The Breezaire WKSL 2200 is a ductless split wine cellar cooling system designed for properly constructed wine cellars up to approximately 265 cubic feet. Its split-system configuration separates the indoor fan coil from the remote condenser, allowing the condenser to be positioned up to 50 feet away from the wine cellar. This configuration can help keep heat and condenser noise outside the cellar while providing flexible installation options.
Key Features
- Designed for wine cellars up to approximately 265 cubic feet
- Ductless split-system configuration
- Sentry III+ digital control system
- Selectable temperature range of 48°F to 63°F
- Remote condenser placement up to 50 feet from the fan coil
- Humidity management system
- Digital temperature display
- High-temperature alarm
- Power outage and airflow protection features
- R-134a refrigerant
- Professional HVAC or refrigeration installation required
Split-System Design
The WKSL 2200 separates the evaporator fan coil and condenser into two components. The fan coil is installed inside the wine cellar, while the condenser can be positioned remotely. This arrangement provides additional flexibility when designing a finished wine cellar and allows condenser heat to be located away from the storage area.
Temperature Control
The Sentry III+ digital control system provides selectable temperature settings from 48°F to 63°F. The controller also provides digital temperature monitoring and system protection features.
Humidity Management
The cooling system is designed to support relative humidity management within the wine cellar. The current Breezaire specifications list a typical humidity range of approximately 50% to 75% relative humidity. Actual cellar humidity can vary depending on construction, ambient conditions, insulation, vapor barrier installation, and other environmental factors.
Remote Condenser Installation
The condenser may be installed up to 50 feet from the indoor fan coil, providing flexibility when the condenser needs to be positioned outside the wine cellar. Proper ventilation and installation conditions are important for system performance.
Installation Requirements
The WKSL 2200 is a split refrigeration system and requires professional installation by a qualified HVAC or refrigeration technician. Installation involves connecting the system components and refrigerant lines and completing the required electrical and refrigeration work.
Proper wine cellar construction is also important. Insulation, vapor barrier installation, glass exposure, ambient temperature, door openings, and other heat-load factors can affect the required cooling capacity.
Optional Bottle Probe
An optional Breezaire Bottle Probe is available for the WKSL 2200. The probe measures the temperature of liquid inside a wine bottle and can be used to provide temperature information beyond the surrounding cellar air.
Direct Replacement
The Breezaire WKSL 2200 is the direct replacement for the discontinued Breezaire WKS 2200. It retains the split-system approach while providing the current WKSL-series control and system configuration.

Wine Cellar Sizing
The listed 265-cubic-foot capacity is intended as a sizing reference under appropriate cellar construction and operating conditions. Cellars near the maximum capacity, or those with significant glass exposure, inadequate insulation, high surrounding temperatures, or frequent door openings, may require additional sizing consideration. Professional sizing is recommended before installation.
Care and Maintenance
- Keep condenser airflow areas clear of obstructions.
- Maintain adequate ventilation around the condenser installation area.
- Keep the fan coil and condenser components clean and accessible for service.
- Have the system inspected or serviced by a qualified HVAC or refrigeration technician as needed.
