Breezaire WKL 3000 Wine Cellar Cooling Unit Sale price$3,055.00 Regular price$4,124.25

The Breezaire WKL 3000 Wine Cellar Cooling Unit is a self-contained, through-the-wall cooling system designed for properly insulated wine cellars up to 650 cubic feet. With a 3,000 BTU cooling capacity and Sentry III+ electronic controls, the WKL 3000 provides temperature management for medium-sized residential wine cellars and wine storage rooms.

The self-contained design houses the cooling components within a single unit and does not require a separate outdoor condenser or field-installed refrigerant lines. The unit is designed to exhaust warm air into an appropriately ventilated adjacent space.

Key Features

  • Designed for cellars up to 650 cubic feet: Suitable for properly insulated and sealed wine storage spaces within the manufacturer's recommended capacity.
  • 3,000 BTU cooling capacity: Provides cooling capacity for medium-sized wine cellar applications.
  • Self-contained design: Cooling components are integrated into a single cabinet.
  • Through-the-wall installation: Designed for installation through a properly prepared wall opening.
  • Sentry III+ electronic controls: Provides digital temperature control with an LED readout.
  • Automatic humidity management: The cooling system helps manage moisture within the cellar environment.
  • Automatic defrost: Helps manage frost accumulation during operation.
  • Power interruption protection: Includes system protection features for operation following power interruptions.
  • Rear warm-air exhaust: Standard configuration exhausts condenser air from the rear of the unit.

Designed for Medium Wine Cellars

The WKL 3000 is rated for wine cellars up to 650 cubic feet when the enclosure is properly insulated, sealed, and constructed with an appropriate vapor barrier. Actual cooling performance can vary based on ambient temperature, insulation, glass exposure, sunlight, door openings, and other heat loads.

For installations approaching the maximum recommended cellar size, proper sizing should be confirmed based on the specific room construction and environmental conditions.

Sentry III+ Digital Temperature Control

The integrated Sentry III+ electronic control system provides digital temperature monitoring and adjustable temperature settings. An LED display allows the cellar temperature to be monitored from the unit's control system.

The control system also incorporates protective functions designed to help manage operating conditions, including protection associated with power interruptions and restricted airflow.

Self-Contained Through-the-Wall Design

The WKL 3000 combines the cooling system into one cabinet for through-the-wall installation. Because it is self-contained, the system does not require a separate outdoor condenser, ductwork, or field-installed refrigerant lines.

The condenser side releases warm air from the unit. The adjacent room must therefore provide adequate ventilation and sufficient space for heat dissipation. Warm exhaust air should not be allowed to recirculate back into the cooling system.

Installation Requirements

  • The wine cellar should be properly insulated.
  • A suitable vapor barrier should be installed as part of the cellar construction.
  • The cellar should be adequately sealed to reduce unwanted air leakage.
  • The unit requires a properly prepared wall opening.
  • Warm condenser air must discharge into a suitable adjacent space.
  • The exhaust room must provide adequate ventilation.
  • Required clearances around the unit must be maintained.
  • Electrical installation should comply with applicable local requirements.

Review the manufacturer's installation instructions before installation. A poorly insulated cellar or restricted exhaust area can affect cooling performance and may result in the unit being improperly sized for the application.

Optional Factory Modifications

The WKL 3000 can be ordered with certain factory modifications for specific installation requirements. Available options listed by Breezaire USA include alternate hot-air exhaust direction, rear power-cord routing, cold-air routing through the top, and a rear drain fitting.

  • Hot Air Out the Top (HAU): Optional alternate condenser exhaust configuration.
  • Cord Out the Back (COB): Optional rear power-cord routing.
  • Cold Air Out the Top (CAT): Optional cold-air routing configuration.
  • Rear Drain Fitting (RDF): Optional fitting for routing condensate through the rear of the unit.
  • Black Aluminum Series: Special-order configuration with an aluminum cabinet and black finish.

Factory-modified units are special orders and may have additional production lead times and different return or cancellation conditions. Confirm the selected configuration before ordering.

Optional Breezaire Bottle Probe

An optional Breezaire Bottle Probe is available for compatible systems. The probe is designed to monitor wine bottle temperature rather than relying only on the ambient air temperature inside the cellar.

Care and Maintenance

Keep the unit's air intake and exhaust areas clear of dust, debris, and other obstructions. Periodically inspect the surrounding installation area to ensure that adequate airflow and ventilation remain available.

Maintaining proper cellar insulation, sealing, and vapor-barrier conditions is also important for the cooling system to operate under the intended conditions. Follow the manufacturer's installation and maintenance instructions for additional service requirements.

Important Sizing Note

The stated capacity of up to 650 cubic feet assumes a properly constructed wine cellar and suitable operating conditions. Rooms with extensive glass exposure, direct sunlight, high surrounding temperatures, frequent door openings, or inadequate insulation may require additional cooling capacity.

Before ordering, verify the cellar volume, construction, ambient conditions, electrical requirements, wall-opening dimensions, and available exhaust space to determine whether the WKL 3000 is appropriate for the installation.
